SPEEDWAY 95 NEWS RELEASE July 19th, 2008

By Bill DaButler

(Hermon, Me) The Dysart's Pro-Limited Series ended its 2008 run with
its final race, under a full moon, Saturday, July 19th at Maine's
Family fun track, Speedway 95. Steuben's Brenton Parritt won the
series championship, despite a blown engine in the closing laps. Pole
sitter Parritt led through 3 cautions until lap 45, when his engine
blew, drawing out the caution. Due to a series of caution flags, black
flags, and race attrition, three cars remained on the track with 5
laps to go, only two of which were on the lead lap. Both lead lap
drivers elected to end the race, due to the oil left behind in the
wake of Parritt's blown engine. Dale Swoboda of Hermon was declared
the race winner, with Duane Seekins of Stockton Springs, in Second.
Parritt was honored with third place, and Deane Smart of Bradley,
although several laps down, was awarded fourth. Parritt's finish put
him in the front of the series points, earning him the championship in
the three race series.

Greg Pung of Franklin took over the top spot in the Super Street
division, at lap two when pole sitter and race leader Artie McGuire of
Bucksport blew his engine. Pung held the top spot through 5 more
cautions to lead ever lap and pick up the win. Winterport's Travis
Beale finished second, and Jeff Overlock, Jr. crossed the line for
third.

Wayne Parritt, Jr. of Steuben picked up the win in the Strictly Street
race, with almost a half-track lead over second place finisher Bradley
Norris of Ellsworth. Shawn Hamel of Bangor took home the third place
trophy in the caution-free event. With the win Parritt takes the
points lead away from Glenburn's Jordan Pearson, who drops back to
third in the standings 74 points behind Parritt, and 68 point shy of
Norris.

There were only two cautions in the Sport-Four race. It was Steve
Moulton of Glenburn who picked up the win. Defending champion Lewis
Batchelder of Dixmont entered the winters circle in the second spot,
and Jason Trundy of Old Town continued his second half of the season
hot streak in the third spot.

A caution early on put several drivers down one lap in the Full Sized
Pick-up Truck division. Jordan Pearson of Glenburn earned the race
win, with Dana Harlow of Hampden second. Jim Carr, Jr. of Clifton was
awarded third as the checkered flag flew. The win puts a comfortable
cushion between Pearson and the race of the division in the standings
with just 7 races remaining.
