PASS North Super Late Models and Mods return to The Ridge Saturday

Naples ME – (July 1, 2008) The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North super
late models pay their second 2008 visit to Beech Ridge Motor Speedway
in Scarborough Maine on Saturday July 5th, amid one of the tightest
points races in the series' eight year history.

Ben Rowe is in a familiar spot for the four time series titlist. He's
on top of the standings after four completed PASS North SLM events and
there's no doubt that the series all time winner is on a drive for
five PASS super late model championships. But, there are plenty of
challengers hot on Ben's heels. Cassius Clark trails Rowe by just
seven points (985 versus 978) in the title chase, and Travis Benjamin
(964), D.J. Shaw (953) and Adam Bates (943) have all shown the kind of
early season consistency that championships are made of.

There have been four different winners in the first four PASS North
Super Late Model races, and a fifth could easily claim victory in
Saturday's PASS 150. It will be tough to top the finish at the Beech
Ridge PASS North opener though, when Mike Rowe beat son Ben across the
line by just one-one hundredth of a second for the win, with Travis
Benjamin a half car length behind the pair in third.

Beech Ridge regular Bub Bilodeau ran up front in the PASS Cabin Fever
150, finishing fifth in the season opener. There are plenty of weekly
Pro Series ridge runners who are capable of challenging the touring
pros on their home turf, and it's likely that several will be up for
the challenge.

Beech Ridge always serves up some of the closest racing on the PASS
North circuit and it's a guarantee that there will be plenty of
fireworks on the race track. Saturday night is the final extra
distance PASS tune-up for Septembers' PASS 400 weekend National
Championship event, so expect a few surprise entrants and a full field
of the fastest full fendered race cars around to be on hand for this
one.

Andy Shaw will look to repeat his opening day win in the PASS Mods and
the speedways' own Wildcats, Sport Series, and Roadrunners will
complete the five division program. The Beech Ridge pit area opens at
noon, Grandstands at 2:00 PM and the race track goes green at 6:30 PM
sharp.
