(Hermon, Me) The Pro-Limited Division at Speedway 95 suffered three
cautions Saturday July 11th at laps 13, the restart of lap 13, and lap
22. What started as a much larger field, ended with a win for Rowland
Robinson, Jr. of Stueben, the fastest car of the four cars still on
the track. Duane Seekins of Stockton Springs finished second, and
Scott Modery of Hermon finished third. Four place and the last car on
the lead lap was Steuben's Mike Parritt.
In the Super Street division, Doug Sinclair of Hermon started on the
pole, and make contact with the outside pole sitter, Kris Watson of
Hermon, drawing out the caution with one lap completed. The tire was
changed, but Sinclair found himself a lap down. At lap 12,the third
caution flag flew, and Sinclair found himself the recipient of the
groove selection lucky dog rule, and gained back his lost lap. Watson
held the front of the field to take the win, while Sinclair worked his
way back up, to finish second. Jeff Overlock, Jr. of Hermon finished
third.
Derek Pearson was in third when his brother Jordan Pearson of Glenburn
spun out with two laps to go. Seeing an opportunity, to get to the
front, Derek slipped underneath the back fender of the leader, Wayne
Parritt, Jr. of Stueben who had led every lap of the Strictly Street
race so far. Derek and Parritt banged together, and Parritt spun,
handing the win to Pearson, second place was Travis Poulin of Holden,
and in third, Ellsworth Brad Norris.
Rookie Jason Trundy of Old Town led every lap of the Sport Four race,
to earn his first win in the division, there were two cautions, and a
red flag in the race. The red came at lap 14 when Brent Fletcher of
Old Town spun, and Gene Stimpson of Belfast and David Ogden crashed
hard outside turn four. Stimpson was alert, and talking, but taken in
the ambulance to be checked out. Steve Moulton of Glenburn ended the
night in second place, and David Green took third.
Ernie Wallace, Jr. of Winterport crossed the line at the checkered
flag to win in the Full Size Truck Division, with Andrew Crosby, of
Hermon in second. Jordan Pearson of Glenburn took third. Pearson
strength in the heat race, allows him to hold the points lead by 7
points over Wallace.
The Maine Supercup Racing League returned to the track with win from
Josh Ireland of Howland, despite a hard charge from Francis Bernard of
Howland who dove many times into the low groove to try to pass for the
win, but settled instead for second in the caution free affair.
