(Hermon, Me) It started out as a beautiful day, but the rains came at
the beginning of the first feature race and despite hopes that rain
would be short lived, the showers were intense enough that the track
could not be dried, effectively bring to a halt racing at Maine's
Family Fun Track, Speedway 95. All of the missed features will be made
up, on Saturday, June 7th at seven with double features, including the
second race in the 50-lap Dysart's Pro-Limited Series. Wacky Wednesday
kicks off the on Wednesday June 4th at 7.
The Pro-Limiteds suffered two cautions in their heat race. The first
came at lap 2, when Rowland Robinson, Jr. of Steuben had a pretty
substantial crash at turn four. The second caution also happened at
turn four when Liberty's Dave St. Clair took a spin. Brenton Parritt
of Stueben crossed the line first for the win.
In the Super Streets, Kris Watson of Hermon continued his streak by
adding a heat win to his collection of checkered flags. Watson has won
every race in the division this season so far, including the heat
races. The Supers went caution free in their qualifier.
There was a huge wreck in lap five of the Strictly Street division
heat race. Stueben's Wayne Parritt, Jr. lost his motor, spilling oil
all over the start of turn four and forcing former division champion
Derek Pearson of Glenburn onto the top of tire pile. Pearson was
shaken up, but uninjured, his brother Jordan Pearson took the win.
There were a pair of surprisingly caution-free Sport-Four heats, with
last years Super Street champ, Steve Moulton of Glenburn earning the
top spot, and David Green of Hampden taking home the prize for the
second heat.
Jim Carr, Jr. returned to the truck division after a absence of a
couple weeks, only to get loose in turn two, and cause point leader
Ernie Wallace, Jr. of Winterport to crash. Jordan Pearson, pulling
double duty for the evening picked up the win in Full Sized Truck heat
race.
