Press release for Unity Raceway

The NEW SPIRIT of Unity Raceway was blessed by Mother Nature with a
bright and sunny day. The Sportsman 108 saw 14 competitors hit the
track. The new purple #73 of Mark Dodge of Anson took home the
checkered flag in the first heat race. The second heat race was won by
the 2007 Unity Raceway Sportsman Point Champion, Brad Bellows, of
South China. These two drivers would go head to head for many laps in
the feature event. Both drivers would end the event with mechanical
failures looming. Bellows would finish first with Dodge following in
second.. New comer to Unity Raceway, Dan McKeage would take home the
third place trophy.

The Monsta Mini's also had a full field. Clinton's own, Timmy
Robinson, would take first heat race. Former Speedway 95 competitor,
Duane Dunifer, would lead the pack in the second heat race. The
feature would see Robinson again looking for the lead. After many laps
of side by side racing with the #3 car of Josh Childs, Robinson took
the lead for good. Childs had to settle for second. Dunifer brought
home his first trophy of the season by finishing third.

The Late Model Pro 4 division has had seen the division grow for the
first time in years. Sophomore driver, Sean Johnson, took home his
first checkered flag of the season with a win in the first heat race.
Former Pro-4 champion, Steve Rackliff, raced for the win in the second
heat race. The feature saw seasoned veteran, Jimmy Dennis, race door
to door with Steve Rackliff for many laps. Dennis found the inside
groove to his liking and took the lead. Sean Johnson took advantage of
lapped traffic and moved into the second position. Rackliff followed
him closely across the line for third.

The Unity Variety Wildcats would have teenage sensation, Dustin
Hubbard, show the way to the heat race win. Hubbard has proven that if
it has wheel, he may want to race it. The feature would again feature
Hubbard taking the lead. After some door to door racing with close
friend, Troy Patterson, Hubbard would take home his first feature win
of the season. Patterson would settle for second. Third place would go
to veteran, Mike Greenleaf.

The Geo & Sons Teens would debut the 2008 season with a new batch of
faces competing with the young veterans. Young driver, Ben Nile,
started right where he left off at the end of the 2007 season with a
heat race win. Nile was able to take the lead in the feature only to
see the lead diminish as the fast #30 of Ricky Palmer took the lead
passing Nile on the outside. Palmer would drive away to take the
checkered with Nile following in second. Jeremy Ludden would follow
the pair across the stripe in third.

The Enduro's would take the track for what would prove to be an
exciting first feature. Young Alex Fernald would take the lead and
show the field around the 1/3 mile track. Fernald showed he was up for
any task when he looked in the mirror to see his mother's street
Lincoln bearing down on his bumper. Track operating manager, George
Fernald Jr., decided to see what track conditions were like for his
new class. Young Alex was up for the task of his father's bumping
taking home the feature win. Tim Pelotte followed the Fernald clan
across the line for second. The only female in the race, Mary Reed,
would prove she was up for the task as she took home the third place
trophy.

Unity Raceway will again race this Sunday, June 8, at 1pm before
switching to Thursday and Friday Nights starting June 19.
