NAPLES, ME, AUGUST 17, 2008 - The Pro All Star Series (PASS) Mods
joined in the Toyota Tundra 250 weekend festivities at Wiscasset
Raceway with their own 40 lap showdown, and when the checkered flag
dropped Mark Lucas claimed his fourth PASS Mod victory of the 2008
season..
Greg Ellis jumped out to an early lead over Scott McDaniel ,but the
field would quickly be brought back together after an early caution
when Sammy Gooden, Gary Norris, and Steve Bennett, Jr. all spun in
turn four. Norris took the brunt of the damage, taking a ride over the
top of the turn; he needed a flatbed to make his way back to the pit
area.
Troy Morse lined up outside Ellis on the restart and made a bid for
the lead but couldn't make the move stick and Andy Shaw filled the
hole on the bottom to claim second. second.
Shaw took his shot at the lead on the next restart and took over the
top spot from Ellis, but he now had Lucas glued to his rear bumper.
With five laps to go Lucas proved to be too much for Shaw, grabbing
the lead and the victory. Shaw hung on for second with Tom Oliver
third. Scott Grant made a strong PASS Mod debut with a fourth place
finish, and Ron Henry completed the top five..
The PASS Mods will be back in action September 20- 21 as a part of the
PASS 400 Weekend at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. For more information
