The Countdown is on for the PASS North Toyota Tundra 250 at Wiscasset

The Countdown is on for the PASS North Toyota Tundra 250 at Wiscasset

Naples ME (August 12, 2008) There's less than a week until the Pro
All Stars Series (PASS) North Toyota Tundra 250 at Wiscasset Raceway,
and throughout the east super late model race teams are busy
preparing for a shot at the $30,000.00 winner's share of the purse.

The PASS North regulars that raced in last Saturday's Atlantic CAT 250
at Scotia Speedworld x will barely have time to catch their breath
before heading for the coastal oval for another 250 green flag laps of
short track thunder. Race winner Travis Benjamin will be looking to
take down two 250 lappers in a row, but as always there'll be s plenty
of competition in the east coasts' fastest full fendered racing
series.

Johnny Clark and D.J. Shaw are guaranteed spots in the 250 by virtue
of their Wiscasset wins in the Ray Haskell Ford 125 and the Steel's
Real Rod and Customs 125, respectively They both have to be near the
top of the favorites list, along with multi time Wiscasset Champion
Scott Chubbuck, Ben Rowe and Mike Rowe, Adam Bates, Kelly Moore, Derek
Ramstrom – the list goes on and on. Corey Williams will make the
Toyota Tundra 250 a homecoming of sorts. The PASS South point leader
still calls Boothbay Maine home, despite several years based in
greater Charlotte North Carolina. He earned a guaranteed start in the
race by virtue of his win in the Easter Bunny 150 PASS South season
opener at Hickory (NC) Motor Speedway in March.

Stan Meserve's another Mainer that will be returning to his home turf
this weekend. Meserve knows every crack and ripple in the venerable
speedway's surface, and the Toyota Tundra 250 will be a rare
behind-the-wheel appearance for one of the Pine Tree States' best
known driver/car builders.

All of Wiscasset's weekly racing hot shoes have pre-entered; John
Phippen, Randy Turner, Charlie Colby and a host of others will be
challenging the touring pros. Past PASS regulars Larry Gelinas and
Mike Parks have both filed entries, and Maine racing legend Albert
Hammond is on the list as well. "Sud'n Sam" Sessions will be there
too, looking for the same magic combination that earned the past PASS
Champion a six figure payday at Wiscasset in 2004.

The Toyota Tundra 250 weekend kicks off on Saturday August 16th with
50 laps for the late models, legends, and a full card of weekly racing
topped off by fireworks and Super Late Model practice for the Toyota
Tundra 250.

Sunday August 17th the pit gate swings open at 7:00 AM, practice takes
to the track at 9:00 AM and the first green flag waves at 2:00 PM.
Twin features for the PASS Pluffybilt Sportsman Series, a 40 lap go
for the PASS Mods, a $500.00 to win Strictly Street special and all
the super late model qualifying races guarantee a full throttle
afternoon of racing. The 36 car field for the Toyota Tundra 250 is
tentatively scheduled to roll off at 6:00 PM.
