PASS South Giving Back to Fans for MOM 150

CHARLOTTE, NC (May 7, 2008) Entering this weekend's Inaugural MOM
150 at the Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, VA, the Pro All Stars
Series (PASS) South Super Late Model drivers hope to score the win at
one of America's finest short tracks. At the same, fans will also be
able to get something back from PASS thanks to several promotional
opportunities aimed at reducing tickets prices.

Motor Mile Speedway fans are used to seeing great weekly racing at a
low price. With this weekend being all about moms, fans can stop by
Shelor Motor Mile dealerships and a variety of other supporting
locations to pick up $5 dollar off coupons, good for a discount on any
adult ticket at Saturday's races. Fans can also find downloadable

"Al (Shelor), Randy (Merriman), and the entire staff at Motor Mile
have been great in helping us promote this event," said PASS President
Tom Mayberry. "We've got a great group of fans that follow our

In addition to the $5 off discount coupons, PASS and Motor Mile
Speedway officials also want to give something back to the future
leaders of our country. Motor Mile Speedway is just minutes away from
Virginia Tech University in nearby Blacksburg, VA, and in honor of
commencement ceremonies there Saturday afternoon, any Virginia Tech
student, not just graduates, that show their student ID will get $5
off any adult ticket.

"In trying to give back to the community, we know it can get tough for
these kids trying to pay their way through college, so by showing
their student ID, hopefully they can save a few bucks and see some
great racing too," said Mayberry. "It's our way of honoring the Class
of 2008."

With moms, dads, students, and race fans watching, the third race of
the 2008 PASS South Super Late Model schedule looks to be up for
grabs. This will be the first time PASS has visited Motor Mile
Speedway so teams will have an empty notebook heading to this
weekend's activities. Corey Williams and Perry Brown look for their
second wins of the season, but a great field of drivers is expected to
be on hand looking to join the winner's club. Virginia's Tim Pinion,
Ben Rowe, Bubba Pollard, Mitch Cobb, Alex Haase, Zach Stroupe, and
many, many more are expected for the aptly named MOM 150. You know
these drivers would love to be able to give mom a trophy come Mother's
Day!

Everything gets started early with an all day practice scheduled for
Friday. Gates on Friday open at 1 PM, with rotating practice from 3
PM to 7 PM for the PASS South Super Late Models, PASS Rolling Thunder
Modifieds, and Limited Sportsmen. On Saturday, gates open at 10 AM,
rotating practice starts at 1 PM, qualifying at 4:30 PM, racing at
6:30 PM, and the MOM 150 will roll off at approximately 8:30 PM. The
Motor Mile Speedway is located 2 miles south of Radford, VA on Route
11.

Dale Shaw will challenge PASS Outlaws at Riverside Saturday

Naples ME ( May 5, 2008) The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Outlaws
and Mods take center stage at Groveton NH's Riverside Speedway on
Saturday May 10th and there's several wild card entries that will
spice up the Outlaw lineup at the quick quarter mile.

Dale Shaw has confirmed that he will make a rare appearance behind the
wheel in the PASS Outlaw division. Shaw needs little introduction to
New England race fans; he's a NASCAR champion, a noted car builder and
of late he's best known as father of PASS super late model racer D.J.
Shaw. The Center Conway NH teenager already has a championship of his
own under his belt, and he's a leading contender for PASS North super
late model rookie of the year honors. Dale serves as D.J.'s crew chief
on the super late model circuit, but on Saturday the roles will be
reversed when his Dad gets behind the wheel.

There will be plenty of Outlaw regulars anxious to take on Shaw.
Speedway 95 winner Scott Mulkern is expected to be in the field, and
Jamie Swallow Jr. will have home track advantage on his side. Mike
Harnish, Gunnar Josselyn and Mike Thomas will make the trip to
Riverside, and both Alan Wilson and Jimmy Renfrew will be making their
first PASS Outlaw starts of the season.

The PASS Mods have a local racer for Riverside fans to root for as
well. Whitefield NH's Ron Gooden Jr. has two top five finishes to his
credit in his first two 2008 PASS Mod starts and could break through
to victory lane at his local track. Andy Shaw and Mark Lucas have both
scored wins; Gary Norris Jr. and Tom Oliver have both been impressive,
too. The fast open wheelers are well suited to the Groveton oval and
are guaranteed to put on a great show.

A full under card of Groveton's weekly racing divisions will complete
the show. Practice gets under way at 1:30 PM. and the racing goes
green at 5:00 PM

ACT Driver Payea Doubles Up at 10th Annual Merchants Bank 150

BARRE, VT – Late Model stock car driver Scott Payea of Milton,
VT earned his third career American-Canadian Tour victory
in the 10th Annual Merchants Bank 150 at Thunder Road Int'l Speedbowl
on Sunday afternoon. Payea waged a race-long battle with
defending Thunder Road Track Champion Dave Pembroke of Middlesex, VT,
finally taking the lead for good on lap 129.
Payea, 26, started the race from the outside pole position and
led the first 46 laps before Pembroke, who started fifth,
took over. Pembroke led – if only by two car lengths – for the next
54 laps before Payea nosed his Ouellette Plumbing &
Heating/AC Sports #89 Ford Fusion ahead on lap 110. Pembroke led two
more laps after a late restart before Payea moved in front
to stay.
ACT Castrol Series Champion Patrick Laperle of Montreal paseed
Pembroke late for the runner-up position. Former ACT Late
Model Tour Champion Phil Scott of Montpelier, VT finished fourth, just
ahead of seven-time and defending ACT Late Model Tour
Champion Jean-Paul Cyr of Milton, VT.
Randy Potter of Groveton, NH made a late charge to finish sixth
ahead of Hyde Park, VT's Eric Williams. Scott Dragon of
Milton, VT and John Donahue of Graniteville, VT finished eighth and
ninth, respectively, while Pete Potvin of Graniteville, VT
had a career-best effort to complete the unofficial Top 10.
Forty-three cars were on hand to attempt qualifying for 30
starting positions. The Merchants Bank 150 was completed in
just over 58 minutes, and was slowed by just six caution periods.

PASS North: Mulkern, Lucas, and McKeage Speedway 95 victors – Rain KO’s SLMs

Despite the best efforts of the Pro All Stars Series and Speedway 95
officials, Saturday's Pro All Stars (PASS) North Community Pharmacies
150 super late model main event was lost to rain. John Fleming, D.J.
Shaw and Adam Bates all earned heat race wins.

The weather held off long enough for three of the four PASS divisions
to complete their programs.

In PASS Mod action Marc Lucas came out on top over Tom Oliver and
Gary Norris Junior; Steve Bennett Jr. and Ron Gooden Jr. ran fourth
and fifth. The Mod feature was cut short at 27 laps in an effort to
get the PASS Super Late Model feature underway. Lucas and Steve
Bennett earned heat race wins.

The PASS Pluffybuilt Racing Tractors Sportsman racers battled for 50
laps, and it was 2007 series champ Dan McKeage earning the hard fought
victory. McKeage took the lead from Shane Tatro on a lap 27 restart
and managed to keep Tatro in his mirror the rest of the way. Richie
Morse raced home third with Duane Seekins fourth and Terry Merrill
fifth. Richie Morse and Tatro came out on top in their respective
heats.

The PASS Outlaws kicked off their 2008 season at Speedway 95 and Scott
Mulkern powered by Chris Staples at the half way point of their 50 lap
feature to open his season on a winning note. At the checker it was
Mulkern's Community Pharmacies Dodge over Staples with Mike Harnish
third. Joe Decker and Scott Alexander rounded out the top five.

The PASS Outlaws and Mods are back in action Saturday May 10th at
Groveton New Hampshire's Riverside Speedway. The Pass North Super Late
Models and Mods make their first trip of 2008 to Wiscasset (ME)
Raceway for the Ray Haskell Ford 150 on Sunday May 18th

Three drivers register first-ever feature victories in OPS JARRacing Karts

Four, in all, post first win in their current division

OXFORD, Maine – Oxford Plains Speedway's JARRacing Photography Go Kart
Series is a little bit like a television reality series. Turnover is a
constant, but there's never a shortage of candidates eager to fill the
role in the following season.
Friday night aptly demonstrated that ever developing feeder system in
the youth-dominated series. Three drivers captured their first 20-lap
feature victory on the OPS mini-oval, and a fourth won his initial
start since advancing to a new division.
Zachary Rich (Purple Plate), Brady Smith (Gold Plate) and Robbie
Wentworth (Unrestricted) logged the breakthrough victories. Spencer
Thompson made it a triumphant jump to Blue Plate with his win.
Among the "veterans," Ethan Matot scored a Box Stock win for only the
second time in his young career, while two-time Star Champ king Mike
Ricker ended his one-year hiatus in victorious fashion.
Rich, who led multiple features last season but was unable to close
the deal, caught a break when runner-up and defending champion Evan
Armington lost power on lap 9.
Armington went two laps down while his crew re-fired the kart, so
although he passed Rich after a late restart, it wasn't enough to take
away the win.
Brandon Varney held off Dylan Haskell for what would be his second
runner-up trophy of the night, followed by Armington in fourth.
Smith has been an occasional competitor at Oxford in the past, but
Friday was far-and-away his finest hour to date. After grabbing the
lead from Josh Brown on lap 6, Smith gradually pulled away from
reigning champion Spencer Morse and won with ease.
Morse charged from seventh starting position to second and held off a
furious challenge from OPS newcomer Dave Blackwell to hold that spot.
Kyle Metivier crossed the line immediately in their tire tracks, with
Brown completing the top five.
Wentworth is another driver with dozens of laps led and even feature
wins to his credit. This time, he swept both the prelim and main event
with authority, leading all 30 laps of competition on the chilly
evening.
Metivier and Tyler Braunschweig diced it out for second in a wild
battle that ended with the two karts literally hooked together coming
out of the final corner. That detour allowed Kayla Ashline to sneak
past into second in her inaugural Unrestricted start. Braunschweig
went over the top to snag third, trailed by Metivier and Aaron
Collomy.
Thompson was the fourth different driver to lead the Blue Plate
feature, and he took advantage of a rare tough night for Troy Davis to
end the defending champion's amazing undefeated streak in the
division. Davis didn't lose a heat or a feature in 13 weeks of
competition last year.
Davis led the first 13 laps but encountered difficulty while trying to
put Avery Spear a lap down. That brought Cody Chiasson into the fray.
Davis spun on the backstretch on the 14th circuit, with Chiasson
assigned to the rear of the field for his role in the incident.
In two separate incidents on lap 17, new leader Jacob Hendsbee spun
and Davis drove hard into a tire wall on the backstretch. Davis was
able to continue and bolted again from the back to second, but not in
time to overtake Thompson.
Spear made a determined drive to third after getting a reprieve with
the first Davis caution. Chiasson and Hendsbee rounded out the front
five in a frantic run.
Matot landed the Box Stock lead from Varney after a lap 10 restart and
denied numerous challenges from the 2006 champion to claim the
checkers. 8-year-old Cameron Gaghan was a strong third in his OPS
debut.
Ricker and defending champ Stephen Beattie swapped the lead three
times in a Star Champ match race before Ricker made the final stand.
The JARRacing Photography Go Kart Series resumes next Friday, May 9 at
6:30 p.m. OPS action continues Saturday with Sunoco Race Fuels Night.
Five divisions see action on the historic 3/8-mile oval beginning at
6:30 p.m.

PASS South Teams on Roller Coaster Heading To Motor Mile

CHARLOTTE, NC (May 2, 2008) With just two races completed of the
fourteen that will make up the 2008 Pro All Stars (PASS) South super
late model season, the roller coaster ride is in full effect. Teams
that were up following Hickory are down and several teams that were
down are up after last Saturday's race at Watermelon Capital. It's a
ride that should experience even more ups and downs, twists and turns,
as PASS South gets set for it's first ever visit to the Motor Mile
Speedway in Radford, VA for the MOM 150 on May 10th.

First off, let's take a look at who's up. It's fitting
that the two "up" drivers are currently tied for the points lead.
While Florida's Perry Brown and North Carolina's John Stancill are at
the top of the PASS South standings, the two have taken very different
paths to get there. Perry Brown moved from go-karts to Florida
modifieds in the late 1990's. Right about the time his super late
model career was getting started, Perry got married and that put his
racing on hold. In 2007, Brown returned and started the season out in
Florida's FASCAR Series before moving up to the PASS South Series. In
his three PASS South starts in 2007, Brown scored two top ten
finishes. After starting this season out with an 11th place finish at
Hickory, Perry flexed his muscle at the PASS South Series first visit
to the Watermelon Capital Speedway by leading all but four laps to
score his first series victory in the Watermelon 125.

John Stancill's racing career has been going on for half
as long as Brown's, at best. However, with just two PASS South Super
Late Model starts under his belt, Stancill finds himself tied with
Brown for the points lead. At just 15 years of age, John has already
won several championships since beginning his go-kart career back in
2000. Stancill moved from go-karts to Pro Challenge in 2006 and took
the Semi-Pro National Championship in INEX Legends competition in
2007. At Hickory, Stancill arrived as an unassuming teenager, never
having raced a Super Late Model, just hoping to make the prestigious
Easter Bunny 150. After starting 26th, Stancill shocked the
competition, racing with the likes of Choquette, Lawler and Rowe to
score a third place finish in the process. Despite an accident at
Watermelon Capital Speedway, Stancill soldiered on to a ninth place
finish and a share of the points lead.

On the other end of the spectrum, several drivers have
already experienced their fair share of trouble. After winning at
Hickory, you might ask how Corey Williams could be on a list of "down"
drivers. Following his win at Hickory, Williams set a new track
record at Watermelon Capital, but that's where his "watermelon"
soured. While running in the top five, Williams suffered the first of
at least three flat tires. Losing two laps under green, Williams was
penalized another lap under a new PASS rule aimed at protecting
drivers with old, worn tires from being outrun by a driver with fresh
tires. Thanks to attrition, Williams managed to finish twelfth and
only fell to third in points.

Colorado's Mitch Cobb was yet again denied by the PASS
racing gods. Strong top five finishes by Cobb in the Blizzard Series
have the eyes of the racing world taking notice. PASS South has been
a tough step up for Cobb though. Good qualifying runs at Hickory and
Watermelon Capital have not translated to good race runs for Cobb. An
early wreck at Hickory sent Cobb back to a 29th place finish. At
Watermelon Capital, Cobb and his team hoped to give the Georgia fans
something to cheer about. Cobb's car is out of the Dawsonville, GA
shops of Bill Elliott Racing, with Ernie Elliott engines and Dan
Elliott transmissions. Cobb's top ten run once again ended after a
tangle with John Stancill resulted in Cobb finishing 16th.

As for Alex Fleming, where do you start? Fleming has to
be the hard luck driver of the PASS South Series. In 2007, Fleming
finished 11th in PASS South points despite the fact that he raced
weekly on Friday nights and won the track championship at Raleigh,
NC's Wake County Speedway. At Hickory, Fleming had a top ten run
going until an accident not of his making knocked him out of the race
and down to a 28th place finish. If that was bad, Watermelon Capital
was even worse. On Friday night, Fleming finished fourth at Wake
County before driving all night to be at Watermelon Capital for the
PASS South race. Fleming qualified tenth and started second after the
qualifying redraw. Fleming jumped to the front to lead his first ever
laps in PASS South competition. Pretty good, right? Wrong. Fleming
ran off the track, bringing out a caution that dropped him to the back
of the field. Then, after making it all the way back to the top ten,
Fleming was taken out on a restart when Zach Stroupe spun due to a
broken panhard bar.

Good or bad, all of the drivers mentioned have shown
glimpses of promise and with some luck, might be able to join Corey
Williams and Perry Brown on the winner's list. That win could come at
the Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, VA when the PASS South super late
models once again take to the track. Jeff Choquette, Ben Rowe and
many more plan to join the best Super Late Models in the country on
Saturday, May 10th when PASS South heads to Motor Mile for the
Inaugural MOM 150. Also in action will be the PASS Rolling Thunder
Modifieds as well as points races for the Motor Mile Limited Sportsmen
and U-Cars. Gates open at 10 AM, PASS South qualifying is at 4:30 PM,
with racing starting at 6:30 PM.

Some weeks ago Unity Raceway track owner Ralph Nason announced that he
wasn't going to open his venue in 2008. However, a couple involved in

NH., returned to his home race track last Saturday night, started last
in a 26 car field, passed cross town rival Rob Goodenough on lap 86,
to win the" Bond Auto Parts 100" in front of a near capacity crowd at
Monadnock Speedway. The True Value Modified Racing Series event was
Alexander's 28th career victory and his third season opening win at
the track known as "The Dog."

Pole sitter Chris Pasteryak, Lisbon, CT., set a torrid pace holding
off the constant challenges of 2007 Rookie of the Year, Peter Jarvis,
Acutney,VT., Jarvis stayed within striking distance of Pasteryak with
Bryan Shumway, Belchertown, MA., last years winner, Les Hinckley,
Windsor Locks, CT., and 2006 champion Dwight Jarvis,Ascutney, in hot
pursuit.

By lap 20, Danbury CT's Ed Dachenhausen worked his way into fifth and
ran strong until a late race mishap would force him to the sidelines.

veteran was able to rejoin the race which stayed under green until lap

Saturday. Cyr's late charge was enough to bring him alongside Rolfe's
Race Basics/Swasey Excavation #51 Ford with less than ten laps
remaining, but the former track champion won by about two car
lengths."We lapped a lot of cars early, but when the field started to
catch up, I had to try some new lines around the track," said Rolfe.
"We found that the upper groove was the place to be, and it

Project Bread is holding their 40th Walk for Hunger on Sunday, May 4,
2008. That's this coming Sunday, RAIN or SHINE. It's a 20 mile walk
through the streets of Boston, Cambridge and Brighton. This event is
MBTA accessible from the Park Street Station (RED LINE) or T Stop.The
network will have their camera's rolling at this event. Home track
stock car favorite Ricky Rolfe of Albany Twp., ME held off a
fast-closing Jean-Paul Cyr to win the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) New
England Dodge Dealers 150 at Oxford Plains(Maine)Speedway on Saturday.
Cyr's late charge was enough to bring him alongside Rolfe's Race
Basics/Swasey Excavation #51 Ford with less than ten laps remaining,
but the former track champion won by about two car lengths."We lapped
a lot of cars early, but when the field started to catch up, I had to
try some new lines around the track," said Rolfe. "We found that the
upper groove was the place to be, and it worked."Cyr recovered from a
lap 49 spin with John Donahue to earn his podium finish. Both drivers
spun in oil dropped on the track by another car, and were given their
running positions back by race control during the caution period.Rolfe
earned a "+5" handicap to earn the pole starting position. Seven-time
and defending ACT Late Model Tour Champion Cyr, of Milton, VT, started
fifteenth in the field of 33 cars. Brent Dragon, also of Milton, VT,
drove from 24th place to finish third. Rowley, MA driver Eddie
MacDonald and Donahue, of Graniteville, VT, rounded out the top
five.Unofficially, the top ten was completed in order by Turner, ME's
Shawn Martin, Montreal driver Patrick Laperle, Quebec City's Donald
Theetge, Cris Michaud of Northfield, VT, and Ben Rowe of Turner,
ME.The ACT Late Model Tour victory was the second of Rolfe's career,
his first since 2002. Only two caution periods slowed the New England
Dodge Dealers 150, which was completed in just over 54 minutes. Fifty
Late Model cars from four U.S. states and two Canadian provinces
attempted to qualify.The ACT Late Model Tour travels to Barre, VT's
Thunder Road Int'l Speedbowl for the 10th Annual Merchants Bank 150
this Saturday and Sunday. Let's see what's going on in northern New
England for racing action this weekend. This Friday night Lee USA
Speedway is celebrating Cinqo De Mayo and fans are encouraged to wear
sombraros because they will be eligable to win prizes. The same night
Twin State in Claremont, NH offers five divisions of racing. On
Saturday take your pick it's Big Block Super Modifieds at All Star in
Epping, NH, Canaan Fairgrounds in NH offers practice for all divisions
starting at noon. Monadnock in Winchester, NH adds the NEAR antique
racers to its already busy card agt 6 p.m. Up in Maine Speedway 95 in
Hermon hosts the PASS Tour plus support classes while Wiscasset
Speedway opens up for the season. Drags are on all weekend at New
England Dragway in Epping, NH and Oxford Dragway in western Maine goes
off on Saturday. Winterport Dragway in Maine also holds a drag meet on
Sunday. Beech Ridge in Scarborough, Maine is another oval track
opening up this one on Sunday afternoon. Wachusetts Valley in
Winchendon, MA has an open house and a swap meet on Sunday for the
flat track bike crowd.
