PASS South Completes 2009 schedule with event At Southern National

PASS South Completes 2009 schedule with event At Southern National

CHARLOTTE, NC (February 27) – Pro All Stars Series (PASS) President
Tom Mayberry is pleased to announce that the 14 race schedule for the
PASS South Super Late Models is complete with the addition of a race
at the Southern National Raceway Park in Kenly, North Carolina. In
addition to the PASS South cars, the PASS Late Model Trucks will also
be in action. The race will be on Saturday, September 26th and will
mark a return for the PASS South Super Late Models to the 4/10 mile
oval. This will be the first visit for the PASS South Super Late
Models to Southern National since 2006. The race will be a major
event for PASS as it will be part of the four-race PASS National
Series. The PASS National Series combines the best from PASS North
and PASS South and will determine the PASS National Champion. Cassius
Clark became the first PASS National Champion in 2008.

"We are very happy to complete the PASS South schedule with the
addition of this major event at Southern National Raceway Park. Kirk
[Leone] has been great to work with and we're glad we can make this
race happen for the fans of Eastern North Carolina," said Mayberry.
"When a lot of places quit running Super Late Models in the 1990's,
Southern National stuck with them and we're glad we can continue that
tradition with the PASS South Super Late Models and we're excited to
bring the PASS Late Model Trucks to Kenly as well."

PASS South Super Late Model and PASS Late Model Truck action kicks
off in 2009 with the running of the 4th Annual South Carolina Clash at
the Dillon Motor Speedway on March 13th & 14th. Practice will be on
Friday, March 13th from 3 to 6 PM with the PASS South Awards Banquet
to follow that evening at the Kintyre House in Dillon, SC. On
Saturday, March 14th, the PASS South Super Late Models and PASS Late
Model Trucks will practice and qualify, with racing starting at 3 PM
for the 4th Annual South Carolina Clash. Dillon Motor Speedway is
located in Dillon, SC, just off Interstate 95 exit 193 on SC Highway
9.

Hal Goodson Returns To PASS South At Dillon

Hal Goodson Returns To PASS South At Dillon

CHARLOTTE, NC (February 22) – Hal Goodson is what you might call an
"old school" racer. He learned that in order to succeed in racing,
you have to be able to do everything yourself, from working on the
racecar, driving the hauler to the track and racing on the weekend.
These are things that have been instilled in Hal Goodson from the
beginning. Goodson's father, Howard, was a constant in victory lane
throughout the 1960's and 1970's at the speedways of the Eastern
Carolinas. That same winning ethic was passed to Hal at an early age
as he had to balance racing with his studies at The Citadel and even
had to keep an eye on the clock so as not to miss his college curfew.

"Yeah, it was pretty interesting back when I first got started," said
Goodson. "When I was racing in the 6-Cylinder division at
Timmonsville and Lake View back in the 80's I had to make sure I got
back to Charleston in time to make curfew."

From his beginnings on dirt, Goodson moved on to Super Late Model
racing on asphalt and quickly became a winner at the Myrtle Beach
Speedway and in Concord Speedway's legendary Big 10 Series. The next
step for Goodson was the NASCAR All Pro Series and racing against the
likes of Jody Ridley, Mike Cope, and Bobby Gill. Goodson would go on
to win 13 races and claimed the championship twice in 1995 and 1997.
From there Goodson raced in the USAR Pro Cup Series and won eight more
times. Goodson left the touring scene and found a great opportunity
to return to his roots when the Dillon Motor Speedway re-opened in
2007. He has competed regularly at Dillon and won the Seneca
SuperTruck championship in 2008. But Goodson's heart has never really
left the Super Late Models that brought him so much success throughout
his career. Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model owner
Jesse Lynch was looking to fill the seat of his #0 Dodge Charger and
looked no further than Goodson. In the pairs only race together in
2007, Goodson was challenging for a top ten finish in the Piedmont
Pride 125 at the Caraway Speedway before a problem relegated him to a
15th place finish. Goodson looks to race the full PASS South season
in 2009 starting with the season opening South Carolina Clash at the
Dillon Motor Speedway on March 14th.

"I'm so happy to be able to run some more," said Goodson. "I'm happy
there is a series like PASS to run these cars. This is what I grew up
racing before I went to All Pro and Hooters. I'm just glad there is
something new and fresh out there. I'm going to try to run as many as
we can."

For those unfamiliar with the PASS South Super Late Models, when you
see the sleek, fast cars you might think it would take a healthy
budget to race these types of cars. But, in reality they are quite a
bit cheaper than their bulkier, heavier cousins, the Late Model Stock
cars that are so popular throughout the Southeast. The funny thing,
says Goodson, is that the basic design and concept of the PASS South
cars is not much different from when he first began racing Super Late
Models.

"I started in this type of cars in the late 80s," said Goodson. "The
cars haven't changed much. The setups have changed, but it's the same
basic cars; they just look a little different. I've never been a big
fan of Late Models (stocks), which are big around the Carolinas. I've
driven them a couple of times, but I never got into them. Super Late
Models are a lot of fun. That is why I enjoy Super Late Models so
much. These cars put on some of the best racing on short tracks
anywhere. They are the most fun cars out there to drive."

While fun, Goodson knows he has a job at hand and with his keen
knowledge of the Dillon Motor Speedway, don't be surprised to seem him
contending for the win in the South Carolina Clash.

The PASS South Super Late Models kick off the 2009 season with their
second trip to the Dillon Motor Speedway on Saturday, March 14th with
the 4th Annual South Carolina Clash. Last year's race was contested
in August and was won by Woodstock, GA's Justin Wakefield. Action
kicks off on Friday, March 13th with gates opening at 1 PM and
practice from 2 PM to 6PM. On Saturday, practice will be from 11 AM
to 1:30 PM, qualifying will be at 2:30 PM, and racing will start at 3
PM. In addition to the PASS South Super Late Models, the South
Carolina Clash will see the debut of the PASS Late Model Trucks. Late
Model Truck regulars from Dillon and throughout the Carolinas will
race for 75 laps in the Nation's newest touring division. Dillon
Motor Speedway is located on SC Highway 9 just off Interstate 95 exit
193. For more information go to dillonmotorspeedway.com,

RMR Snocross News: Ossipee, NH Event Recap

Poirier posts another clean sweep in Ossipee for Rock Maple Racing
snocross series
Brunelle, Davis split Semi-Pro finals

OSSIPEE, NH (Feb. 23, 2009) - Former champion Danny Poirier
posted another clean sweep of the Pro finals on Sunday afternoon, as
Rock Maple Racing (RMR) completed Round 6 on the nine-race 2009
Central series snocross campaign at the old Mount Whittier ski area.
Pro and Semi-Pro teams were kept busy in Ossipee, completing
the makeup finals from Stamford, NY, Saturday before qualifying for
Sunday's points races. To kick off a weekend of domination, Poirier
swept both the Stock and Open finals, while Jake Melville swept the
Semi-Pro finals. Joe Lemieux (Pro Vet) and Michelle Lemieux (Pro
Women) also posted wins in the completion of those races postponed
from Stamford.
Poirier (Hulten Speed Sports/Polaris), of St. Theodore, Quebec,
led Pro rookie Chris Chico (Amsoil/Arctic Cat) and hard-charging John
O'Malley (Ski-doo) across the line in both classes (Stock and Open) as
three brands of sled filled the podium. With last weekend's impressive
four-race sweep, Poirier has now won 10 of the 12 Pro finals completed
this season.
Joel Santy out-gunned defending champion Joe Lemieux to win the
Pro Vet final, with Vermont rider Rene Desrochers a solid third.
Melanie Acker prevailed in a hotly contested Pro Women's final,
holding off the talented Stephanie Lemieux and Janell Smith for top
honors. Santy also claimed the Plus 35 Masters final over Desrochers
and Lyle Turtlott.
In Semi-Pro action Sunday, Brad Davis and Lucas Brunelle posted
final round wins. Davis, of Cambridge, VT, posted a career-first
victory in Semi-Pro Stock, out-dueling Michael George and Aaron
Pfeifer while wearing a cast on his hand. Davis has persevered through
tough times in the past, making this win seem truly special.
Brunelle was triumphant in an event-filled Semi-Pro Open final.
Pfeifer led a majority of the race but was involved in an incident
with Jake Melville and later disqualified. Hot off his victory in the
recent "Dash for Cash" at Stamford, Lincoln Lemieux put in a strong
performance to finish second, while Shaun St. Onge was third. There
have been a number of fresh faces near the front in Semi-Pro this
year, a clear indication of the tremendous depth of talent within its
ranks.
In Sport division action at Ossipee, Joey Stock and Jake
DaSilva reigned supreme. Stock, of Bearsville, NY, held off Mike
Billow and Dylan Bisson to claim Saturday's Super Stock final. Stock
also rode his Team Southside Polaris to victory in Sunday's Sport
Stock 600 final, while DaSilva (Ski-doo) out-gunned Andrew Bailey to
win the Super Stock final on Sunday. Stock also won the Semi-Pro Stock
440 final over Bailey and Clinton Ballou. Bailey found redemption with
a convincing victory in Sport 500, with Aaron Adams and Christian
Ellsworth filling out the podium.
Jake Scott (Hulten Speed Sports/Polaris) is enjoying a similar
kind of dominant season in RMR's Junior division as Poirier is among
the Pro riders. Scott, of Port Jefferson, NY, earned three more wins
in Ossipee (14-15 Stock 600, 14-15 Stock 600 Fan, 16-17 Stock 600) to
further expand his control of the point standings.
Other final round winners in Central series action over the
weekend in Ossipee include Joe Klimas Jr. (Sport stock 600 Fan);
Christian Ellsworth (Plus 25); Amanda Kirchmeyer (Women Stock 600
Sat., Stock 600 Sun.); Steffanie Lemieux (Women Stock 600 Sun.); Sarah
Acker (Girls 10-13 Stock 600 Fan); Morganne Sterl (Women Stock
Novice); Derek Vitiello (16-17 Stock 600 Fan); Leo Patenaude (10-13
Stock 380 Fan, 10-13 Stock 600 Fan); Hunter Patenaude (8-10 300
Freestyle Sat. and Sun.); Kyle Sackett (Trail 600 Saturday); and Tim
Lapierre (Trail 600 Sunday).
RMR's East series teams were also in action over the weekend in
Ossipee. Final round winners there include Joey Mosher (Sport Stock
600); Paige Calderwood (Women Stock 600); Nick St. Amand (Jr. 16-17
Stock 600); Kory Bouthillier (Jr. 14-15 Stock 500); and Montana Jess
(Jr. 10-13 Stock 380 Fan, Jr. 10-13 Stock 600 Fan). Congratulations to
all of our final round winners in both the Central and East divisions.
Rock Maple Racing would like to thank Steve Sousa, Bill Groves,
Kathryn Amaral and Karen McNiff at the Greater Ossipee Area Chamber of
Commerce for their tireless work while hosting last weekend's event.
RMR's third annual visit to Mount Whittier was a big success thanks to
your efforts and strong support from the community. Despite a
significant snowstorm on Sunday, all events were completed as
scheduled. And the addition of the popular "Rave-X" aerial display
team to the event added even more excitement for fans. Overall it was
another great weekend of racing in Rock Maple's home state of New
Hampshire.

PASS Sanctions Late Model Trucks

CHARLOTTE, NC (FEBRUARY 9) – The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) is
pleased to announce that it will sanction a Late Model Truck division
in 2009. The PASS Late Model Trucks will be the support division for

"We are very excited to bring the PASS Late Model Trucks into our
family of racing divisions," said PASS President Tom Mayberry. "Ever
since we started PASS South in 2006 we wanted a support division that

we have found the perfect division to provide our fans with the type
of top notch racing they expect at a PASS sanctioned event"

The PASS Late Model Trucks will utilize rules very similar to those of
tracks where the trucks already compete on a regular basis. The new
division will be sanctioned and officiated by PASS officials. The
PASS Late Model Trucks will join the PASS South Super Late Models as

Fadden Racing Joins Drive For Diversity Program

Fadden Racing Joins Drive For Diversity Program

Jonathan Smith To Pilot Legendary #16 In CWSE

North Haverhill, N.H. - Fadden Racing announced a
partnership today with NASCAR's Drive for Diversity Program, an
initiative that was instituted in 2004 to attract minorities and women
to the sport. Under the contract, car owner Mike Olsen will field the
legendary No. 16 Chevy's for Jonathan Smith of Beacon Falls, Conn. in
a full NASCAR Camping World Series East schedule. Smith was one of 12
drivers chosen for the sixth season of the program.

Former DEI President of Global Operations, Max Siegel, is
the newly named director of the Drive for Diversity program, and will
oversee the initiative through his new sports and entertainment
marketing company, 909 Group.

"After my initial interest in the program, I became
intrigued with the fact that Max Siegel took it over," said Olsen.
"Through his involvement at DEI, he knows what it takes to run this
series. At DEI, they fielded three cars last season. He has a
knowledge and understanding of it from a car-owners perspective and
that was very reassuring. I'm excited to be working with him. More
importantly, I'm excited to be working with Jonathan Smith, who I've
gotten to know quite well over the last couple of years. He's had two
years in the Camping World Series so he knows the tracks and the cars.
I'm confident that we, at Fadden Racing, will put the equipment and
resources under him that will allow him to succeed."

Harry Norcross, who took Olsen to two NASCAR Camping World
Series East Championships, will lead Smith's effort as crew chief.

Smith got his start in racing at Stafford Motor Speedway
in 2006 driving a Late Model. His runner-up finish in the
Rookie-of-the-Year battle caught the attention of Motion Racing's
owner Barney McRae, a veteran driver himself in the NASCAR Camping
World Series East. In his first year on the series and competing
against drivers such as Joey Logano, Sean Caisse, and Mike Olsen,
Smith was able to pull off a 16th place finish in the championship
point standings. Smith's 2008 season was plagued with mechanical
issues and he concluded the season 19th in his sophomore year.

"I'm really excited to be involved with Mike Olsen and
Fadden Racing," Smith said. "I've gone to Mike a lot over the last two
years for advice, and he was always a tremendous asset and willing to
help me out. When the Drive for Diversity program came to me and told
me they were looking for a new team, he immediately came to mind. I
was really happy that they listened to my suggestion and approached
him. I'm even happier that he decided to do it."

Smith, who will be competing for his third season in the
series, together with Fadden Racing are actively seeking sponsorship.
Interested parties may contact Fadden Racing at molsen@together.net.

Kevin Harvick Wins One Wild Budweiser Shootout

Kevin Harvick Wins One Wild Budweiser Shootout

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. -- Talk about a shootout. They'll be talking about
this one for years to come.

Kevin Harvick drove his Richard Childress Chevrolet to the front of
the field on the very last lap Saturday night to capture one of the
wildest Budweiser Shootouts in the history of Daytona International
Speedway.

Harvick cruised across the finish line after a split-second crash
behind him and runner-up Jamie McMurray wiped out a group of
contenders, including defending Sprint Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson,
contenders Kyle Busch and Brian Vickers, as well as Casey Mears and
pole-sitter Paul Menard.

The stage was set for a 190-mile-an-hour showdown. when a caution fell
with three laps remaining in the two-part 75-lap race. David Stremme
nipped Greg Biffle coming out of turn four sending Biffle into the
outside wall. Biffle had to realize it just wasn't his night since he
had been a victim of several other miscues by various drivers earlier
in the race.

When the green flag fell for a green/white/checkered finish, McMurray
was leading with Harvick second. Harvick ducked low coming out of turn
two on the final lap and passed McMurray. By the time Harvick got to
turn three, all heck broke loose behind him.

Johnson was tapped by someone, who was tapped by someone else and the
next thing you knew, cars were spinning all over the place with smoke
covering the track like a late-night campfire. When it cleared, the
bright yellow No. 29 of Harvick was home free.

Trailing the winner and runnerup was Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon, two
former champions who gave it their all to win. AJ Allmindinger was
fifth, followed by Kasey Kahne, Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, Kurt Busch
and Kyle Busch.

This was one of those races you absolutely had to watch every minute
of every lap because drivers swapped the lead faster than you can
imagine.

Lap 26, Edwards leads. A couple of laps later, Kahne's in front. Then
Gordon takes the lead. Then McMurray. Next thing you know, Hamlin's
out front. Then Kyle Busch. Then fan favorite Dale Earnhardt Jr.
streaks to the front.

The lead changed so fast, the announcers had a hard time talking that fast.

Matt Kenseth took a turn in front, as did Vickers, until it came down
to the end. It was a night every manufacturer could brag a little
about because every different make had its moment at the front of the
pack.

Paul Menard drew the pole position for the start of the two-segment,
non-points race. Menard, however, fell back after one lap in front,
and Denny Hamlin charged to the lead.

The fireworks started on lap four when cars checked up in front of
David Ragan, who was turned sideways, triggering a multi-car spin that
involved Mears, Robby Gordon, Joey Logano, Scott Speed and Greg
Biffle.

Jeff Gordon zig-zagged through the accident, moving his DuPont Chevy
back and forth dodging cars like he was playing hopscotch on the
high-banked pavement.

The race restarted on Lap 8 with Earnhardt out front. He was followed
by Elliott Sadler on the outside and Hamlin on the inside. Sadler
broke free and went to the front on Lap 10 with Hamlin in tow.

Kurt Busch was next with Tony Stewart fourth. Stewart took the lead on
lap 13 and Carl Edwards had roared into second.

NASCAR's best drivers were duking it out as though it were the last
lap of the Daytona 500 and the fans were loving it.

By Lap 17, Edwards was in front with Hamlin second. Allmindinger
shoved his Dodge into the second spot a couple of laps later, and
Johnson drove his Chevy into the ring, moving from back in the pack to
third place. Jeff Gordon was in fourth.

McMurray showed his hand on Lap 21 by moving into the top five.

On Lap 22, Hamlin made contact with David Reutimann, who gathered up
David Stremme. Both Reutimann and Stremme plowed sideways off through
the dirt on the inside of the backstretch but managed to keep their
machines off the retaining wall.

At the end of the first segment at 25 laps, Edwards was first with
McMurray second. Johnson was third, followed by Kahne, Kurt Busch,
Kyle Busch, Vickers, Gordon, Allmindinger and Earnhardt.

Logano, Robbie Gordon and Ragan were done for the night.

PASS North Super Late Models make first Seekonk Speedway stop August 15

PASS North Super Late Models make first Seekonk Speedway stop August 15

Naples ME (February 4, 2009) It's called the Cement Palace, a track
steeped in auto racing history and tradition. It's the birthplace of
Pro Stock/Super Late Model racing in New England, and on Saturday
August 15th the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North will make its
inaugural visit to the storied Seekonk (MA) Speedway for 150 green

in making the announcement. "It's the kind of short track where
experience counts, and the southern New England racers that call
Seekonk home will give the touring pros all they can handle. Our

season."

GWC TO HOLD ITS OWN “RACE AGAINST CANCER” IN 2009

GWC TO HOLD ITS OWN "RACE AGAINST CANCER" IN 2009

OAKLAND, Maine – Green-White-Checker will make every appearance count in 2009.

In 12 years, Racing Against Cancer has raised more than $600,000 for
the American Cancer Society. This year, the motorsports Web site
www.GreenWhiteChecker.info is going to hold its own "Race Against
Cancer" at tracks across New England and beyond in an effort to combat
this horrific disease for which there still is no cure.

Green-White-Checker founder and editor Travis Barrett will donate $5
for every race day he attends in 2009. Last year, Barrett devoted a
total of 75 calendar days to covering motorsports at all levels, and
he is hopeful to eclipse that number in the coming season, beginning
next week at Daytona International Speedway and New Smyrna Speedway in
New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

"It's not much, but I know that every little bit helps," said Barrett,
who founded Green-White-Checker in early 2008 and reaches an average
of more than 3,000 readers daily. "We all know somebody who has been
affected by cancer on some level, and I really feel like this
fundraiser will give all those trips to the races this summer a little
extra meaning."

Four short tracks in northern New England have already agreed to
participate in the fundraising efforts. Promoters at Oxford Plains
Speedway, Thunder Road International Speedbowl, Unity Raceway and
Wiscasset Raceway have all agreed to either match Barrett's $5 per
race pledge or make a flat donation at season's end. More are welcome.

Race fans are also encouraged to seek Barrett out at events throughout
2009 to make their own donations to the event.

"We're really excited to be joining forces with Green-White-Checker,"
said Scott Gregory, the director of operations at Racing Against
Cancer. "We're happy that Travis approached us about the project, and
we appreciate all the support out there."

Racing Against Cancer was founded by Jon Blanchette in 1996, two years
after he lost his wife, Jodi, to the disease. He got the ball rolling
at his wife's insistence before her passing.

"It was her dream to make something good come from all she went
through," Blanchette said in the fall of 2007.
